Iran's drone program is based on the Predator, which is a model of the U.S. Air Force's Predator. The Shahed 129 was launched in 2010, and was modeled after Predator. Iran also built a new runway at Jakigur in 2015. One of the few drones named after an American action hero was Shahed 129.

Mohajer-2

The Mohajer-2 (an improved version) is capable of more navigation and operational range. The Iranian Air Force created the Mohajer-2, which took over the production of the original Mohajer. The Mohajer-2 measured 9.6ft in length with a 12.5ft wingspan. It had a WAE-342 2 stroke engine of 25 horsepower that could also be used as a pusher propeller. The fuselage featured straight mainplanes in the midships, and wing tips that were clipped.

Iranian officials have successfully converted their Mohajers and Ababils into advanced UAVs. UN Peacekeepers asked Iran's government about drones in Sudan in 2008. The Iranian government replied that they were Zagils and renamed Ababil-3. Two of these drones were downed by rebels in Sudan. The Mohajer-2 UAVs were then acquired by Venezuela, which has not been able to detect them.

Karrar interceptor

The Karrar, an unmanned aerial vehicle from Iran and a one-way cruise missile, is a prototype. Its wing design allows it to operate at a high altitude and speed. The drone has the ability to perform both types of missions and record images of targets for the ground control systems. It can also carry munitions. It is believed to carry a 500-lb unitary bomb and two smaller weapons. The Israelis would shoot it down, killing both civilians and drones.

The Karrar unmanned aircraft vehicle is a clone the Beechcraft MQM-107 Streaker. It was a US military target and exported to Iran by the Shah's regime. The Iranians reverse-engineered it to create the Karrar. The drone can reach speeds of 500 mph and is capable of carrying 250-pound anti-ship missiles, a GPS-guided bomb, or even a small cruise missile.

How To

How to Select the Best Drones for Photography

This article will discuss how to find the perfect drone for your needs. We'll discuss what you need to look for when buying a drone.

First, let's look at some general guidelines for choosing a drone that you can use for your own purposes.

You should consider the size of any product before purchasing it. If you intend to take photos above ground, you'll find that a larger size camera is easier than one that's smaller. This is especially true if your are a beginner pilot. You don't want to get into trouble because you were too scared to go higher!

Secondly, you'll want to look at the quality of the image sensor. The better quality of the images you are able to capture, the bigger the sensor.

A remote controller might be worth your consideration. They allow you to see where your drone is in space.

Finally, you'll want to consider whether you'd like to buy a fixed mount or a gimbal. You can shoot stills while flying with a gimbal. Gimbals are easier to keep steady and allow for greater movement. They are usually more expensive, depending on what you need.
